..........The project Thai Rath Witthaya schools started in 1969 by Mr Kamphol Vacharaphol, the late director of Thai Rath newspaper, who considered that the countryside lacked educational institutions, especially on the primary school level. So, he joined with Lop Buri province to hold a movie- star football match at the football field of Phibul Witthayalai school to raise funds to build a school. Then he received cooperation from Lop Buri folks tremendously, raised a sum of money, added by a government budget he built a school building named Thai Rath Witthaya 1 (Ban Hua Chang).

..........This is a started point of Thai Rath newspaper in a long series of building schools in accordance with the project "Thai Rath Witthaya schools for rural community". The budgets were provided by Watcharaphol Co.,Ltd. owner of Thai Rath newspaper as construction funds. Up to the present time Vacharaphol Co.,Ltd. has spent 158,694,493 baht for school construction already.

..........When a school building was completely built, it would be given ownership to the government, and The Foundation, which is a charity organisation would take it in the project and give support later. At present, there are 101 Thai Rat Witthaya schools that the Foundation gives patronage in the nationwide.
