Thai Rath Newspaper Foundation was fo unded on the 27th December, 1979 when it was the 60th anniversary of Mr. Kamphol Vacharaphol, the late director of Thai Rath newspaper, who set up the Thai Rath Newspaper Foundation with his personal funds of 1,000,000 baht. He applied for permission to set up the foundation with the National Culture Commission attached to the Ministry of Education, and was granted the licence No. Tor. 131/2523 on the 22nd May, 1980 with the name of “Thai Rath Newspaper Foundation.
